Southampton Modern Jazz Club has been hosting free concerts in the city since 2009. Since the start of our journey at our first beloved venue, The Bent Brief, The concert series has become a unique and respected presence on the UK jazz scene. The SMJC aims to provide an unrestricted platform for artists to present their music the way they intend it to be. Whether it’s original compositions, carefully crafted arrangements, or considered tributes, listeners can depend on a varied and unique experience each week. The extradonairy stream of the highest quality musicians that pass through the club has become an impressive virtue that would be hard to find in many other places. Concerts start at 7pm every Sunday. Donations for the musicians and support for the bar are strongly recommended in lieu of an entry fee. Support for the bar continues to keep the doors of the venue open!
